We are in the season of Lent

Eleven Pilgrims Are Going to the Border

Trinity Church,

Please pray for the eleven of us who are going to the El Paso/Juarez border on Sunday for a listening tour with Abara. While we know there are many complexities around the issue of immigration, which is especially heated right now, we start and rest and travel to the border from the place of knowing God created all people in His image. We are looking forward to listening and learning and bringing back to Wenatchee hearts which are more informed by God and his people, so that we can better love our neighbors right here in our community.

Why do we want to go to the border? Here’s what our pilgrims have to say:

“I’m excited to hear what’s happening from people who are living and working at the border.”
–Steven

“I want to see how God is working in places outside of our lives and to become more informed on the crisis in our world.”
– Daniel

“To cut through the noise and see what’s really happening.”
– Nigel

“I hope to gain a deeper understanding of the experiences of undocumented individuals so that I can better love them as God calls us to. I want to become a more informed and compassionate advocate on their behalf.”
–Rosalie

“I hope for God to give me more of His heart for the wanderer.”
–Nicole

“Does God, in whom every family in heaven and earth is named, believe in borders?”
–Mike

Thank you for joining us in prayer, Trinity.
We look forward to bringing back to you what we’ve learned.

Nicole

Camp Registration Open Now

Early Bird Registration Price Until July 13

Trinity Family! Dust off your tents, pull out your RVs, or reserve a cute cabin in the woods. August 15-17, we are headed to the beautiful Lazy F retreat center where we will find wide open spaces for play, fishing, and hiking, a beautiful new lodge for meals and worship, and time together listening to God, each other, and ourselves in Christ. We look forward to having author and spiritual director, Lacy Finn Borgo, with us to help us grow in this holy practice of listening.

Try a Team this Summer!

Hi Trinity Family,

As we enter into a season of warm sunshine and flourishing, I would like to invite you to consider trying out a Trinity Team for the Summer. Our Fellowship, Tech, Prayer, and Child check-in Teams are in real need of new additions in order to fully blossom. Would you be willing to risk trying one out? I will follow up with a conversation to discern if it is a good fit for you or if something else might fit better. Please fill out this form to let me know of your interest in join one of the teams for the Summer.

Together,
Karin Abbott

Prayer Team Meeting

July 13 @ 10:30am

The current prayer team, along with anyone who would like more information and might be open to trying out the prayer team, are invited to a 30 minute meeting after service on July 13th. We will meet in the staff office around 10:30 with Pastor Matt and Linda Congdon (leader of the team) to talk about  how to listen well and pray for people as they come with a desire to be met in prayer. If you have questions please contact Linda at 509-415-5914.

Invitation to Join Evensong

Trinity Church - Evensong finished its fourth season at the beginning of June. Can you believe it? In the summer of 2021 (pictured above), Julie Canlis and I dreamed up a way to bring contemplative, sung liturgy and the traditional evening service to our parish. It's been a joy to share that music with you each month since. While it's always been a small ensemble, we started with just eight singers, it's become clear that in order to return with a fifth season in the fall, we need more voices! If you are a musical woman (high school or adult) and can commit to a monthly rehearsal & service Sept-June, please let me know ASAP! email: hannahmontzingo@gmail.com or phone: 206-354-2947

Small Miracles

Summer Lunch Program Starts June 23

For seven years Trinity Church has partnered with Small Miracles to serve lunches to children at the park closest to our church (Methow Park). This summer, Small Miracles will be coordinating the site through their Central Headquarters. We invite you to sign up for a weekly slot! This is one simple way that you can go face to face with kids in our neighborhood.

What is involved? Each Monday through Thursday, volunteers serve pre-prepared sack lunches. You can sign up just once, or multiple times throughout the summer to develop more of a relationship with the kids.

How long does it take? There are two different roles that each take about an hour. The setup+serve person shows up from 10:30-11:30am. The serve+return person does 11am-noon. You always work with other people so that you’re not alone.

How will I know what to do? Training is provided online.  Watch these videos on civil rights training and the Small Miracles zoom discussion.

Who can participate? Anyone! Families are welcome to serve together, so bring your significant other, children, etc.!

Godly Play Artwork

Parents, this Sunday there will be a table in the narthex with artwork created by your children during Godly Play.  Please stop by and pick up your children's pieces.
We are looking to equip more spaces for our growing population of kids - if anyone has comfy chairs, bookshelves, or a small to medium desk they'd like to donate, please reach out to Kelsee at kelsee@trinitywenatchee.org or 509-607-0785.
