Dear Trinity,
A few years ago, Brad Jersak gave a Lent lecture at our church that helped us frame the upcoming season in new and helpful ways. He defined Lent as “a gift of the church, embarking together on an annual, historical re-enactment — a 40-day journey of repentance—leading up to the Paschal (Passover) Feast of the Lamb.” Lent is not meant to be a solo journey into more and more restrictions... but a communal journey toward more and more freedom. It’s meant to be a journey together. And what is this journey for? It’s for repentance, which is not about feeling remorse, regret, or self-loathing, but rather about reorienting ourselves to our North Star while recalibrating our practices.
So…how is God inviting you to walk with Him this Lent? We hope that this season won’t be reduced to “what I’m giving up for Lent.” Brad spoke to how Lent works best NOT by creating laws, but by receiving grace that empowers us. What grace does God want to give you this Lent? This is not a journey from freedom to restrictions, but from slavery to freedom. Our prayer is that God would give you a taste of true liberation in Christ, by the power of the Spirit. The LORD be with you!

Critical Journey with Pastor Matt
Friday, February 28 @ 6:30pm

Come learn about the natural progression of meeting Christ and growing in him. It’s in this progression that we learn to expect challenges and even death to what we once thought… we learn that God is inviting us into a greater freedom than we can even imagine.
On Friday night, we’ll start with teaching and end with wine, some nibbles and reflection and wonder about where we are and how the Lord wants to continue to form us.
Please RSVP so we can plan for refreshments.
Carson’s Album Release Show with Jon Guerra
Saturday, April 12

To celebrate the release of my new record, Small Boy Running (you can listen to the first two songs here), I’ll be doing a show at Trinity Church with Jon Guerra on Sat, April 12! Jon is doing a Spring Tour for his own forthcoming record, and will be stopping in Wenatchee to do a co-release show with me.
I’ll be opening the evening by playing my record in full, and then you’ll get to hear many new songs from Jon as well. It’ll be a sweet night… a treat of treats!
Bringing your whole family? We’ve got a family ticket price for just $60 (2 adults + all your children)
Optional add-on: Devotional Creativity Q&A w/ Jon before the concert
Want a free ticket? We need 4 volunteers to come early to run the merch tables (2 for Jon, 2 for Carson). If you’re interested in being a volunteer that night, contact me at 509-881-7737 to discuss.
Been Here 6 Months? Serve on a Team!
Our tradition here at Trinity is to welcome newcomers into resting and receiving for their first six months with us. This is a beautiful time to learn the rhythms of prayer, liturgy, and community life in our congregation. After these months, we would love to invite you into a team to participate more fully in the life of our church. If you are not yet on a service team please fill out this online form to start a conversation around which might be a good fit for you. Most of the opportunities involve a monthly or even every other month schedule that can work around your availability.
Together,
Karin Abbott
