What a Feast!

Trinity Church

Dear Trinity,

What a Sunday! With two baptisms in the morning, and a feast at night, we all got a glimpse of what it looks like to be the children of God.

We’re delighted in by our Father…

The table is set for us...

And we’re invited into the great dance!

Huge thanks to our team of volunteers who made the Epiphany Feast happen…

Bre Chud - our cheerful feast leader who orchestrated the whole night

Doug Hall - BBQ extraordinaire … he spent all week preparing the main course for our church

Julie Canlis - with her help, we all danced the night away like champs

Leah Cole - she headed up the decor and envisioned the whole room setup. We have her to thank for the food line going so quickly!

Stevie Clifton & the Leavenworth Home Group - they handled the setup and the teardown of the night with ease and smiles!

There are about 15 more people who chipped in to make this night a success. From helping during the food line, to making playlists, to doing sound, to organizing kids activities, to cleaning up at the end of the night… we appreciate you! Thank you so much.

Carson

p.s. - we have a Mazda key fob that someone left at the feast… if it’s you, reach out to Carson at 509-881-7737!

Summer Pilgrimage to the Border

This summer (the week of July 4th), Trinity will be taking a pilgrimage to listen, learn, and grow in Christ as we come face-to- face with our neighbors at the border. This trip is for high schoolers and adults.

Learn more about the history and heart behind this pilgrimage by reading this article about the founder of Abara Border Encounters.

If you are interested in joining this pilgrimage, please plan to attend the meeting on January 26th after Evensong. Questions before then? Reach out to Nicole at nicole@trinitywenatchee.org

George MacDonald Book Club

We will continue our George MacDonald Book Club this year, with MacDonald's "Marshmallow" Trilogy. This combines three of MacDonald's beloved novels: Annals of a Quiet Neighborhood, The Seaboard Parish, and The Vicar's Daughter. We will start with "Annals of a Quiet Neighborhood" which is the first novel in this trilogy.  From The Room to Roam's description of this book:

Annals of a Quiet Neighbourhood is a fond, retrospective glance at his early years in ministry by the ageing family man, Henry Walton. His story begins as he arrives in the village of Marshmallows, and then traces his progress in a community which seems to consist only of “characters.” As he finds his feet and widens his circle of acquaintance, we are introduced to a delightfully plain-spoken old sailor, an argumentative local carpenter, and (among many others) the high-bred Oldcastle family–including both the beautiful Ethelwyn and her imperious mother, who it appears will stop at nothing to prevent a match between her daughter and the new vicar

But we really hope you buy from an independent bookseller: Wise Path Books and The Room to Roam are great options.

Here is the librivox free audiobook (with varying quality of readers - you get what you pay for! https://librivox.org/annals-of-a-quiet-neighbourhood-by-george-macdonald/ (best accessed on the free librivox app on your phone)

Our first meeting will be March 2 and will be hosted at the Canlis house at 6:45pm, with background info/teaching by Trevor Sill (one of our many illustrious librarians).
