Solitude and Sabbath Retreat

Solitude and Sabbath 101 Retreat

November 15-17 at Ingalls Creek

Dear Trinity,

Do you recognize the need to cultivate greater stillness and slowness in your life?

The Solitude and Sabbath 101 Retreat can help you in this journey.  Trinity’s second winter retreat will be held November 15-17 at Ingalls Creek.  The first day focuses on Solitude practices, the second on Sabbath.

Jesus tells us his yoke is easy and his burden is light.  Yet, out of habit, we can push ourselves relentlessly.  Solitude and Sabbath help us to gently turn from such habits and rest under the easy yoke of Jesus.

Please join us in community at Ingalls Creek this November for a weekend of coming home to ourselves in Christ.

Early-bird pricing of $90 ends this coming week on 10/31.  (Prices increase to $110 on 11/1).

Fellowship on the Lawn:

Learning How to Love

Last Sunday, Nicole and Carson announced that part of our DNA as a church in the Diocese of the Rocky Mountains is that our mission defines our structures. Every church, no matter its particular mission, has a God-given mission of loving God and loving others. We’ve got a beautiful thing going on at Trinity…with elders, little ones, teens, parents, singles, and adults without kids. And part of our call is to learn how to love one another well.

Fellowship on the lawn after church is one way to practice this!

To pave the way for love, we’ve decided to make some slight changes.

2 Tables: We’ve got a kids’ table and an adult’s table. Please have your family use the right one. When there are donuts once a month, we’ll be serving those to you at a 3rd table. It was great to be face-to-face with you this past week! Let’s keep it going.

Playground etiquette: In order to keep kids safe, parents, please stay and keep your loving eyes on your children. Church, let’s consider walking around the sanctuary to spend time together with our young parents and children who are at the playground so they don’t feel isolated or forgotten.

Kids outside: From now until Advent, our play area for kids will remain outside.

Next time you see our Fellowship Team working hard to serve you (they stay for both services), please thank them! Our Fellowship Team: Susan, Justin, Jim, Nancy, Terry, the Sill family, Kim, and Rebecca. Here's a wonderful photo of Susan below.

Collective Contemplation leading up to the US Election

Monday, Nov 4th from 5-5:30pm

I (Carson) recently saw this opportunity in my inbox from Anam Cara Ministries, and wanted to pass along their beautiful invitation to hold space together in this time:

“As we come up on one of the most charged elections in recent memory, there is so much (too much, perhaps) coming up in our souls. We are finding that many of us are hunkering down, waiting it out, perhaps even avoiding the fears and frustrations (and hope!) that a season like this engenders.

“This gathering will not be a space for conversation or discussion, but simply being together in contemplative prayer—even if we differ widely in our opinions (and we likely will). Hosted by spiritual directors Annalise Hume, Elizabeth Peterson, and Jamie Bonilla, this 30-minute gathering will begin and end with a brief, facilitated spiritual practice, framing a quiet space of contemplation, trusting that in the mystery of what happens in prayer, there is movement.

“So, if you have found yourself hunkering down but have been wondering how else you might respond, or if you have been longing for a spacious way to come to this difficult-to-navigate season, we’d love to have you join us. No cost, simply a collective space offered.

Bulletin Board

Our bulletin board is a place where you can express a need to our church body (ex: housing, items needed, jobs wanted, etc.) so that others can reach out and respond.  Have a submission? Please email hello@trinitywenatchee.org for us to review.
