A Note to Newcomers

Hi Trinity family,

My name is Karin Abbott and I fill the newly created staff position of Newcomer and Teams Lead. I am a long time Wenatchee resident and married to my favorite person, Mike.  We also have four children… Mo, who is fifteen and attends with us, and three young adults who are spreading their wings outside of our home. I have just started a masters degree program in Spiritual Formation as I seek to continue to grow in what it means to be formed by the Lord in this life of faith and pursue what it could look like to help others in that process.

I am excited to be able to welcome newcomers to Trinity as we have found this to be a safe place to be known and bring questions about faith and God. It has long been the practice for newcomers at Trinity to rest and receive for their first six months in attendance, and I look forward to walking with people during that season.

Pastor Matt and I would like to invite any new attenders over the last year to a Newcomer Dinner, a relaxed time to share a meal and get to know you and give you a chance to know us, on Saturday, October 5, from 5:30 to 7:30pm.

To let us know your are here, and so we can reach out to you, please fill out this online welcome card.

Lastly, if you are newer here and just want someone to chat with or ask questions of, please reach out to me at (509) 293-3840 via text or call. I would love to meet you over coffee or on the phone.

Together,

Karin

George MacDonald Book Club

Hello Trinity,

The next meeting for the George MacDonald book, At the Back of the North Wind is a month and a half away.  If you haven't started yet, you still have time to order and read this fascinating story by MacDonald.  We are still in need of a host/location for the meeting on October 27 at 6:30.  Email me below if you would like to host.

For those of you who have started or completed At the Back of the North Wind, be sure to jot down anything that has stuck with you or has made you ponder something you hadn't pondered before.

Edition recommendations - below are a couple good editions of At the Back of the North Wind and a great audio dramatization by Focus on the Family (this would be great for kids):

  • Wise Path Books - Cullen Collection edition, includes a great introduction by Michael Phillips

  • The Room to Roam - This edition has illustrations and large font plus an introduction by Douglas Gresham

  • Focus on the Family Radio Theater - a dramatized and abridged audio production, available as a digital download and on CD.

Any questions (or if you would like to host)? Contact Trevor: trevsill1054@gmail.com

Bulletin Board

Our bulletin board is a place where you can express a need to our church body (ex: housing, items needed, jobs wanted, etc.) so that others can reach out and respond.  Have a submission? Please email hello@trinitywenatchee.org for us to review.

  • The Chud family is looking for a place to park their food truck each night that is safe and has a power source. The generator was recently stolen from the truck prompting the need for a new place to park. They need somewhere to park it through the remaining season and if that same space is available to park at over the winter to be winterized that would be amazing. They are willing to negotiate a fee for parking the truck too. So if anyone knows of any good options please reach out to Bryan Chud @425-324-6691 via text message.
